Introducing
The Emily Richardson Western Series.

The Author, Emily Richardson was born and raised in rural England. She writes under a pseudonym as a tribute to her paternal and maternal grandmothers. Her experiences in Australia and America figure strongly in her writing as does the birth and subsequent death of her and her husbands four year old son. Personally enjoying fast-paced, action filled, western theme stories, Emily has strived to produce such a book.

A book she hopes everyone will enjoy.

After All

is a story about a mother and her daughter travelling across the American West in the 1840's, it is a story of tragedy, survival and ultimately hope.

It begins in a dirty dangerous frontier town, where many people gather, believing in their hopes, while hoping in their beliefs. Mary is one of the many who have hope, but the feeling soon turns to despair when her husband is shot and mortally wounded. Mary never expected to face such circumstances in such an environment, so early in life. This was meant to be the beginning of their great adventure, now, some say her husband is a victim of a crime, others that he is the price paid in the name of national progress called migration.

Necessity breeds innovation, Mary is forced to cope with the unimaginable loss and has to find a way to survive. Her daughter, Aggie cannot be abandoned to Mary's self serving grief, hardships are faced by all. A man attempts to take advantage of a situation when Aggie, unknowingly exposes her vulnerability. Mary doesn't hesitate coming to the defense of her child, justice is severe and swift. Many obstacles attempt to destroy  the little peace they find. A second marriage seems to be the answer to an immediate problem, it's only at a later date that Mary discovers the true nature of her second husband.

While Mary and Aggie's lives continue, so does their journey across the rugged, dangerous land. Wagon train life is arduous and difficult at the best of times, but when they become victims of ignorance then abandonment, hope, comes in the unexpected form of, death.

Uniting with their kind of people, Mary and Aggie fight for survival the only way they know how, by taking one day at a time, and by acting instead of reacting. With team work, determination and a little luck along the way, they find salvation, which for both of them comes in different forms.

Ultimately that is what we are all searching for.
