Emily.

Emily Richardson talks about writing, After All.

I began writing this strory the first year I left Agricultural College (1986.) It began with a very brief outline and over the years the story developed as I experienced life in general. There were times when it was left shelved and untouched, like, for example, when I went to Australia and lived and worked on an 8000 acre sheep/dry cropland farm.

Marriage, as well as the responsibilities of owning and being the only 'hand' on our ranch in Oklahoma, further conspired against any literary progress.

My son's birth and subsequent death, four years later, also gave me much pause for thought.

Throughout it all I had the unwaivering support of close family and friends. Especially my Mum, who deserves a special thank you for her editing skills and for all the empty notebooks she kept me supplied with, along with the desire to fill those pages.

To All I am eternally gratefull. Ultimately I discovered that wether good or bad, family is the foundation none of us can live without.
